Rural Communities Program

We provide free immigration legal services for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in rural Oregon.

A path forward

We give survivors of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking freedom and hope

Since 2005, the Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women to has granted funding to Catholic Charities of Oregon to provide free immigration legal services to rural survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking across Oregon. We also host community education events about immigration options for rural survivors of crime and abuse and training events for service providers.

If you are interested in learning more, please email our Rural Program Legal Assistant at ils-rural@ccoregon.org. Prospective clients can call our domestic violence line at (503) 542-2855 (extension 9) to request a free consultation.

Who qualifies for the Rural Communities Program?

Survivors must live in, or the victimization must have occurred in, a rural county in Oregon.

Information for advocates

Advocates can email our Rural Program Legal Assistant at ils-rural@ccoregon.org. We ask that advocates please have as much of the following information as possible before contacting us: client’s name, DOB, phone, and name and DOB of abuser/adverse party.

If you or someone you know is a survivor of abuse and living in one of the grey counties shown on the map below, Catholic Charities’ Immigration Legal Services team can provide a free immigration consultation upon request. If he/she/they are eligible for immigration relief, the case will likely be accepted free of charge. If you live anywhere in Oregon, you may still call us to receive services from our Immigration Legal Services team.
