Catholic Charities of Oregon continues to welcome families from Afghanistan resettling here in Portland.

One of the most challenging barriers to welcoming Afghan families to Portland continues to be securing housing. Lutheran Community Services Northwest recently secured housing for an Afghan family in Portland’s Cully Neighborhood.

New residents will need supplies

In October, Catholic Charities of Oregon will welcome 142 households to their new homes at Good Shepherd Village apartments in Happy Valley. Among the residents at this new, light-filled building will be 58 families and Veterans with very low incomes who are transitioning from homelessness.
