Voces de la comunidad: Supporting Latino Survivors

October 22 & 23, Portland, Oregon.

Voces de la comunidad is a space for conversation, education, and action about issues surrounding domestic violence and sexual assault in the Latino communities of Oregon. Our second annual two-day conference will include presentations and workshops that acknowledge opportunities and barriers experienced by service providers, community partners and allies, domestic violence and sexual assault advocates, and survivors. Attendees will receive support, ideas, and tools around how to better serve Latino and Latina survivors of violence.

The conference will feature three interdisciplinary training tracks. Spanish-language professionals will have the opportunity to attend workshops delivered in Spanish intended to foster best practice when working with Latino survivors in both educational and professional settings. Workshops focused on improving cultural responsiveness by promoting equity, security, and empowerment will be offered in English. Additionally, the conference will feature bilingual workshops offering insight into the impact of government policy on the Latino community and domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.

At registration, you will be asked to select the workshops you would like to attend. Please let us know when you register if you will require interpretation services. We strive to make this conference as accessible as possible.
